Children...Health Starts at Home
Children are constantly developing habits that will remain with them throughout their entire lives. Children are curious and enjoy learning new things. They also enjoy doing what their parents do! Sometimes it can be challenging to teach children healthy habits. But, parents can help their children learn healthy habits by their example. If children are taught while they are young to be active and eat healthy, those habits will likely stay with them as they grow.
How Do I Know if My Child
has Food Allergies?
Some children and adults have reactions to foods they eat. Research shows only 2% to 5% have true food allergies. Sometimes a person may have a food intolerance, not an allergy. When a person eats a food that they are allergic to, there are many signs and symptoms that may occur. Symptoms of food allergies may show up as rashes, hives, or eczema on the skin. There may also be vomiting, nausea, stomach cramps, and diarrhea. There are other possible signs and symptoms of food allergies too. Because these signs and symptoms can be caused by several things other than food allergies, it is important to see a doctor to rule out other causes.
